BENNY BRIMMER
As from a very tender age I had that special art feeling, that made me observe every detail that through my life time I came across.I do remember very well that although, like any other kid, I was afraid of the dark, I used to challenge myself to fetch the darkness so I could observe more the effect of that little bit of light that came through the window at night.Never let a painting that came across to my sight, unobserved. My father Joseph noticed my ambition, and as he, himself was keen on art, he had done his utmost to teach me all that he was capable off.Pencil drawing was always my favourite medium, shadows, darkness and bright light contrast were always on the agenda. For my father this was the golden rule in art. This has left a very great impact on me and for every drawing that I used to finish, it was he who showed me the direction of light and the opposite shadow.Nowadays, I am utilising what I have learned from him, and while still observing the effects of the chiaro e oscuro, I create with dedication the shadows corresponding to the object. The other medium that had envolved in my works, is that of Oil applied on canvas.
